Food and nutrition faculty members Rebecca Hagedorn-Hatfield and Lanae Hood discuss what can be done to end food insecurity among college students, based on more than a decade of research. Meredith College celebrated the Class of 2022 with two commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 14, 2022. The ceremonies were held in the College’s courtyard. In addition, graduate degree programs held separate hooding ceremonies for master’s degree candidates.
Meredith Lake has been completely restored thanks to the generosity of donors. Through the years, the Meredith community has enjoyed the space for its beauty. Alumnae can look back on their time at Meredith and remember events and traditions fondly, and students once again have a serene spot to relax, meet with friends, attend outdoor classes, and conduct research. Meredith Lake is a treasure for everyone to enjoy. We hope you will visit campus soon to see the restoration for yourself.
The Meredith Teaching Scholars program, which also serves undergraduate N.C. Teaching Fellows, offers an exceptional experience for aspiring teachers. Programming includes mentorships, travel opportunities, honors classes, and more.
Kelsey McCleave, ’20, earned a Pre-Health Post-Baccalaureate Certificate at Meredith because he wants to ensure people in underserved areas have access to the healthcare they need. Next up: the Physician Assistant program at Campbell University.

At Meredith, we know living well is essential to going strong. That’s why we emphasize health and wellness on our campus and prepare students to become leaders who go on to support healthy communities in a variety of ways.
The Nutrition Lab located in Martin Hall underwent major renovations in Summer 2021. The new lab is open and will provide students with hands-on learning experiences that will simulate the environment they will work in outside of Meredith in areas such as nutrition education, sales, food service management, public policy or health fields, and the local and sustainable food industry.
