The Class of 2023 held a special event called Seniorsgiving on November 10, in Belk Dining Hall to announce and celebrate their senior class gift project. This year the class will be raising money for the greatest needs of Disability Services. 

On Wednesday, November 9, Meredith College parents and families raised $14,700 in 24 hours toward this year’s project to enhance campus outdoor spaces. The goal was $10,000. The Jessie Ball duPont Fund is also providing matching funds for a portion of the total raised, so the final total will be even higher.

Alumnae, current students, and friends attended the Interior Design Affinity event hosted by the Alumnae Association, on October 23, 2022. The tour in Durham, N.C., featured the work of Alicia Hylton-Daniel, ‘08, owner of Hylton Daniel design+construction.

Meredith’s Office of Alumnae Relations mailed back-to-school packets to show support to teachers, librarians, school counselors, administrators, professors, and other educators as they prepared to start a new school or academic year.

Since 2010 parents and families at Meredith College have supported a campus project each year that benefits all students in some way. These projects have enabled Meredith to improve spaces and launch programs that contribute to a positive experience during students’ time on campus.

Meredith College has received a five-year gift from Deborah Stanley McNeill, ’71, focusing on a new health and wellness initiative promoting the wide array of health-related academic programs as well as services that help students, faculty, and staff with overall physical and mental health.

The Meredith College athletics department held its 24th Annual Meredith College Golf Classic on April 25, 2022. The tournament is dedicated to raising funds for the advancement of Meredith College athletics programs. 

Meredith Athletics and Institutional Advancement held an Avenging Angels Day of Celebration brunch reception in McIver Amphitheater at Meredith Lake. The day brought together all 10 athletic teams, their families, fans, and donors to acknowledge their accomplishments. 

Institutional Advancement held the Senior Scholarship and Donor Recognition Dinner, which paired scholarship donors and their senior, allowing students the opportunity to say thank you and donors to learn more about the individuals they are supporting.

Naming Opportunities are available for the NEW Communication and Exercise & Sports Science Academic Building Opening in 2022.

The Anne Carroll Mustian Ezzelle Art Student Enrichment Fund was established last year by her husband Brian Ezzelle. Anne Carroll Ezzelle, ‘90, was an art major at Meredith and taught elementary art for 29 years in Chesterfield County, Va. During that time she fostered her students’ creativity and encouraged them to reach their goals. In spring 2021, Brian created a $50,000 endowment in memory of Anne Carroll, who passed away last year, to provide enhanced learning opportunities for art students with financial needs.

Jim Marchman’s love for his wife, Marshall Moore Marchman, ’66, is evident in love letters written during their courtship in the 1960s. He compiled the letters and gave a copy to Meredith College after Marshall passed away in 2018 so that their scholarship recipients not only got to know who Marshall was but also to share the history of the College with current students. The letters talk about day-to-day things, document the Marchmans’ love story, and share happenings at Meredith College during that time.

The renovation of the iconic Meredith lake is complete thanks to the generosity of 1,400 alumnae and friends of Meredith College. The College is pleased to reintroduce this space on campus for all to enjoy. 

In August, the Office of Alumnae Relations wanted to celebrate alumnae educators, administrators, and school personnel whether they were part of a year-round program or heading back to work for the start of a new school year. Alumnae were asked to self identify to receive Meredith College swag for their office or classroom. It was a way for the Alumnae Office to say thank you for all they do to educate the hearts and minds of students.
