Introducing Our 9th President

On July 1, 2024, Dr. Aimee Sapp will assume the role of President of Meredith College. Having earned her undergraduate degree at a women’s institution, Sapp has a deep appreciation for Meredith’s history and the unique value of a women’s education.

Meredith College appoints Dr. Aimee Sapp to serve as its ninth president.

The president-elect was introduced by the Meredith College Board of Trustees during a campus celebration on March 27. Currently serving as Provost for William Woods University, Sapp brings a wealth of experience to her new role.

“I'm excited about leading Meredith into the future. There are so many opportunities for institutions of higher education today and so many directions we can go. It's going to be such a wonderful experience to work with everyone to see what's the next best step for Meredith College.”

2024 Inductees

About President Sapp

To her new role at Meredith, Dr. Sapp will bring more than 25 years of higher education experience at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. She has led the initiation of academic reorganization, the establishment of program prioritization, and the implementation of budgetary process reforms. Sapp previously served as a department chair, division chair, and associate dean. In addition to her administrative responsibilities at William Woods, she is a tenured full professor in communication and holds doctoral faculty status.

President-elect Sapp’s scholarly interests include leadership communication styles, interpersonal communication, and gender communication. She holds a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Missouri, a master’s degree in speech communication from the University of Northern Colorado, and a bachelor of science in sociology from William Woods College.

President-elect Sapp is married to Travis Tamerius and has three children: sons Coleman and Clayton and daughter Carley.
