Profile

I started my career as a teacher in preschool and K-3 elementary schools within the Durham, Orange and Chapel Hill school districts. Subsequently, I assumed the role of an early childhood state consultant for the NC Department of Public Instruction where I led exciting work such as state standards development, K-2 mathematics curriculum and professional development, NC Kindergarten Power of K Teacher Leader initiative, and the NC Kindergarten Entry Assessment. I am delighted to continue my journey by supporting the next generation of child development professionals in my current role as an Assistant Professor of Child Development and the Birth-Kindergarten Teaching License Program Coordinator.
