For this week’s #WorldWideWedneday, we travel to Costa Rica to hear from Georgia Meade, ’26, as she shares about her #MeredithCollege Study Abroad experience.
Georgia is a Spanish and Sociology student who studied Language and Culture in Costa Rica. Hear what she has to say ⬇️
“My experience studying abroad in Costa Rica was busy, exciting, and constantly surprising. For me, the most meaningful part was getting to connect with my host family and my peers. I learned that I am capable of navigating a new culture and language. Getting to use my Spanish skills in the real world was challenging but incredibly rewarding!
Other #MeredithCollege students should consider studying abroad to show themselves what they are capable of and what they can learn from getting outside of their comfort zone. Studying abroad strengthened my sense of empathy and cultural humility and has inspired me to work even harder at my goal of becoming fluent in Spanish!”

Today, Art In Italy students spent the day in Città di Castello, visiting Palazzo Albizzini and Ex Seccatoi del Tabacco, home to the Alberto Burri Collection and part of the Burri Foundation. Students also visited Tela Umbra, known for its renowned textile creations, yarn, antique frames, lace, and various types of weaving instruments on display, demonstrating the numerous processes carried out in the workshop.

Earlier this summer, Mabel Parker ‘26 earned Gold at the Southeast District 4-H for her outstanding Project Record Book on Arts & Communication. She also shone as a choral premiere performer at the National Beta Convention in Savannah, Georgia, where she placed 1st in apparel design.
Currently, Mabel is at the NC Governor’s School at Meredith, immersing herself in choral music. Keep reaching for the stars, Mabel!
