Meredith College President Jo Allen and DTCC President William G. “Bill” Ingram signed the agreement. Other college officials including DTCC Dean and Head of the Department of Arts, Sciences, and University Transfer Program Thomas Gould and Meredith College Vice President for Academic Planning and Programs Liz Wolfinger attended.

The purpose of this transfer partnership is to promote completion of both the associate’s degree at DTCC and the baccalaureate degree at Meredith. The two institutions will collaborate on strategies that facilitate the seamless and successful transfer of DTCC graduates to Meredith College undergraduate degree programs.

Meredith College is committed to helping women transfer students transition to Meredith by providing scholarships for those who have successfully completed their community college experience and now choose to complete their bachelor degrees at Meredith.

There are three scholarships at Meredith designed for N.C. community college graduates.

• Students who have completed the Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree with a 3.0 GPA or better and plan to enter Meredith in fall 2013 will be eligible for a $10,000 transfer scholarship per year for two years.

• Students who have completed the Core 44 with a 3.0 GPA and meet the criteria in fall 2013 will be eligible for a $5,000 scholarship for three years.

• Students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa at their community college and meet the criteria will be eligible for the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship, an annual award of $5,000 for up to three years.
