| The Willie J King Postal Center provides a full array of services for students and staff at Meredith College. The Postal Center is located on the first floor of the Cate Student Center, directly across from the Campus Book Store. |

Stamps: The Postal Center sells stamps individually, in books of 20, and rolls of 100. Stamped envelopes and post card stamps are also available for purchase at the window. |

Packages and International Letters: UPS, USPS, and FedEx are used to send packages and international letters. |

Registered Mail and Money Orders: The Postal Center will not process registered mail, or sell money orders. The Method Road Post Office or Cameron Village Station can be used for both registered mail and money orders. |

Students and employees have the option to use cash, check, or campus card (Camcard) to pay products or services. |

Meredith College departments must provide an account code for charging back all incurred postal center expenses. |
Faculty/Staff Information |

Parcel/Packages: Arrangements with Facility Services are necessary to have large or bulky mailings picked up for delivery to the Post Office. Facilities will also deliver larger packages to campus departments.

** Personal packages can not be sent or delivered to campus. Postal Services has the right to refuse delivery of any personal package. |

All UPS pick-ups and deliveries are will be made through the Postal Center. Outgoing UPS packages must be properly addressed and taped prior to delivery to the Campus Post Office. Incoming UPS shipments should be properly addressed with the recipient's name and department for proper delivery. |

Federal Express accounts are handled through individual offices but the Postal Center is the location for pick up and delivery. Contact with Federal Express is necessary to obtain department account numbers. |

Standard Mail: Standard mail, ( USPS product) such as printed matter, flyers, circulars, advertising, newsletters, bulletins, and catalogs are not required to be mailed as First-Class Mail. All Standard Mail rates are bulk rates. Each mailing must meet a minimum quantity of 200 pieces or 50 pounds of mail. |

Off-campus Mail: High volume mailings should be delivered to the Post Office early in the day to ensure same-day processing. Outgoing mail may be brought to the Post Office up to 4:30 pm. This mail will be processed the same day. First class require envelope flaps moistened down and be rubber banded together. |
Mail to be metered must be accompanied by an account number. If the department sending the mail cannot be determined from the envelope, it will be opened. |

Intra-Campus Mail: Mail will be delivered and picked up by the Postal Center staff once per day. Delivery times will vary with the exception of a 10:00 am delivery and pickup for Johnson Hall. All mail for Johnson Hall will be delivered to the mail slots on the 3rd floor. |
Student Information |

Student mail is put in mail boxes by 2:00 pm Monday through Saturday, with the exception of student holidays. Outgoing mail pick-up is at 5:00 pm. Notification of student package delivery will be put in the students mailbox. This notification and the students Camcard are required for pick package pickup.

** Questions concerning arrival of mail should be directed to mail room employees after 2:00 pm, Monday - Friday. |
Summer School: New and continuing students attending summer school and living on campus, should visit the mail room on the first day of the summer session to pick up mail box combinations. |

Mailbox Combinations: Combinations are distributed on move-in day. The student is responsible to remember this combination. Resetting Mail box locks: There is a 24 hour wait to reset the mailbox combination. Students will need to come by the Post Office and add their name to the list, then bring their Campus Card (Camcard) to pick up the new combination. |

Mailbox Security: Students should take responsibility to provide proper security for campus mailboxes. Below are suggestions for safeguarding mailboxes. |

• Spin the dial several times after closing the mailbox door. This will insure the combination is not preset. |
| |
• Do Not preset mailbox combinations for convenience. |
| |
• Never give combinations to other people. This will compromise mailbox security. |
| |
• Do Not let items accumulate in the mailbox. |
| |
• Always, personally, pick up packages and mail. |
| |
• If there is any suspicious activity, report it immediately to a postal employee or the campus police. |

Summer information: During the summer the Postal Center staff will make every effort to forward first class mail to the student's permanent address that is on file. Second or third class mail, including magazines, newspapers, etc will NOT be forwarded. It is recommended that students change the address with all correspondents, especially banks, credit card companies, and magazine companies, to ensure delivery. |
Forwarding first class mail to a different address, other than the student's permanent address, requires a completed green change of address card which are located at the Postal Center. |

Graduating students who need to change their permanent address should visit the Alumnae House. |
