Opportunity for Free Admission to Raleigh International Festival

Raleigh International Festival Seeks Volunteers

The 26th annual Raleigh International Festival will be held September 30 through October 2 at the Raleigh Convention Center. Festival organizers hope to make this year’s event the greenest yet! Green Committee members need volunteers to help with the waste stations in the sidewalk café area. This space will have separate containers for trash, recyclable materials, and compostable items. Your job would be to help steer attendees toward the right containers and answer questions. In return for 2.5 hours of your time, you will get a festival T-shirt and may stay for the rest of the day for free. To volunteer, contact Ms. Nazi Kite, Green Committee chair, at nazikite@yahoo.com

If you have four hours to spare and a love for talking trash, Raleigh Recycling would love to have your help. We are going to bring our Wheel of Waste Reduction trivia game and trash sorting challenge to the festival. Volunteers at our booth will receive free admission to the festival and Raleigh Recycling swag. Oh, and the satisfaction of helping visitors learn how to reduce, reuse and recycle. To volunteer, email bianca.howard@raleighnc.gov or call 996-6872.
