Being from Panama, I like to teach people about diversity and I’m trying to do that through the Meredith International Association. A lot of people don’t know it is open to everyone, not just international students. I joined the White Iris Circle because the admissions office needed students who could give bilingual tours of campus. One mother was fascinated to see Meredith trying so hard to make her daughter feel comfortable. By the end of the tour, the student was coming to Meredith.” Hometown: David, Panama Major: Molecular Biology. Favorite Thing about Meredith: “We’re all equal. There is no such thing as a minority here because we are all women.” Most Fascinating Discovery: “You see a completely different world under the scanning electron microscope. Simple seeds become beautiful structures. You never expect something so tiny to have so much detail.” |
“Meredith College has been my best experience ever. I’ve become a completely different person. I didn’t used to be very open to people. Now, I talk to everyone. I’m very social. I’m more secure and more flexible now.
