Service Break Trips
To prepare Meredith students for their roles as global citizens, the Office of Student Leadership and Service coordinates intensive service opportunities, both domestic and abroad. We are always looking for student participants, student leaders and faculty/staff chaperones. To learn more about past programs, please read below.

Past Service Break Trips:
Turtle Island Preserve Trip
During the trip to Turtle Island Preserve, an environmentally sustainable community near Boone, North Carolina, students, faculty and staff observed the different lifestyle practices of the community and assisted them with various projects on the property, including clearing ground for teepees, grooming horses and gardening.
Mississippi Trips
Groups of students, faculty and staff have gone to the Gulfport, Mississippi area to assist with Hurricane Katrina Relief. Volunteers helped to repair houses damaged by the hurricane.
Belize Trips
For several years, volunteers went to Belize where they volunteered at an Anglican school. The groups read with children, did minor maintenance on the school, and painted a mural with the school kids.
