30 Hour Famine

30-Hour Famine

August 28 - August 29, 2009

$30 will fee 1 child for 1 month

How can you help?

We are looking for interested volunteers to go without food for 30 hours to raise funds and awareness for world hunger-relief. Around the globe over 920 million people are undernourished. Because of the recent increase in the price of food, it is estimated that over 100 million people will be pushed into absolute poverty. "It is estimated that 1 billion people will go hungry, while another 2 billion will be undernourished" (United Nations and World Bank).

Help us make a difference by participating in our 30-hour famine.

What is a 30-Hour Famine?

A 30-hour famine is simlar to a walk-a-thon or fundraising race where you are sponsored for the length of time you participate. All participants will make a commitment to a lock-in in Kresge Auditorium for 30 hours where we will host a variety of activities such as service and awareness raising opportunities, movies, games, and more. Each participant will be asked to raise money before the event. There is no minimum or maximum required. Everyone can participate no matter the amount raised. If you would like to help, but cannot go without you are welcome to make a donation to the effort.

All donations will be given to World Vision. Please see their website at http://www.30hourfamine.org/ for more information about 30-hour famine.
