Service Programs

The Office of Student Leadership and Service is here to help all members of our campus community discover the power of service. We promote civic engagement and active global citizenship among our students, faculty and staff.

If you want to make a difference, you’ve come to the right place!

Service Opportunities Include :

IMPACT: Student organization devoted to organizing service projects and events for Meredith students

MeredithREADS: An ongoing program coordinated in conjunction with Motheread, Inc. where volunteers work one-on-one with elementary students to improve literacy skills.

NC-ACTS! (North Carolina Activating Citizenship Through Service!): An AmeriCorps program of North Carolina Campus Compact where students are awarded an education award for participating in 300 hours of service during the course of the year.

Service Break Trips: Do something different during you break. We coordinate both domestic and interational service trips.

SPLASH! into Service: An event coordinated by NC State University where Meredith students join other area colleges to package one million meals for Stop Hunger Now.

30 Hour Famine: A one-time event to support famine relief in developing countries.

Community Impact Award: Awarded during Celebrating Student Achievement to one student who demonstrates a dedication and commitment to civic engagement.

  • an annual Fall Volunteer Fair with representatives from area community agencies.
  • cross-cultural and international service opportunities.
