The First Year Experience Service Project
Each year all students taking the First Year Experience course work together on a service project that is connected to the Meredith community. Examples of previous projects include a 24 hour Walk-a-Thon to raise money for Interact, a 24 hour Rock-a-Thon to raise money for Meredith's Tide of Hope Tsunami Relief Efforts, and an 11 hour Brick-a-Thon to raise money for the Meredith-sponsored Habitat for Humanity House.
The purpose of these service projects is not only to benefit a worthy cause, but also to introduce the importance of service to each student in their Meredith education and to help first year students bond through an interactive community project.
