The purpose of Phi Alpha is to provide a closer bond among students of social work and promote humanitarian goals and ideals. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarships and achievements in social work.

Our Chapter, Omega Lambda
All social work majors who meet its scholastic and professional stardards are invited to become members of the Omega Lambda Chapter of Phi Alpha, Social Work Honor Society. Inductions are held in April for new members and graduating seniors receive their Phi Alpha cords to be worn during graduation ceremony.
Qualifications:
- must have declared social work as a major
- achieved sophomore status
- completed 12 hours of social work courses
- overall grade point average of 3.0
- a 3.25 grade point average in required social work courses
