Meredith – The Core Elements
In providing a transformative educational experience and environment, Meredith College focuses on excellence in all of its programs and has high expectations of students, faculty, and staff. The College identifies three major areas of focus: undergraduate education, graduate education, and community outreach and professional studies.
At the undergraduate level, Meredith is a selective college for women that combines a vibrant residential community with a strong commuting student population. The strength of the academic program is the integration of the liberal arts with preparation for careers, professions, and graduate study. The undergraduate experience incorporates and values learning, leadership, diversity, and service.
In graduate studies Meredith concentrates on programs that support the interests, aspirations, and lives of women. The graduate program is coeducational and is designed to serve well-qualified women and men in their intellectual and professional development. All of Meredith's graduate programs are expected to meet identified educational needs, to be built on the strengths of the College's undergraduate programs and faculty, to develop strong ties to the community and to combine to strengthen the College financially.
Meredith's community outreach and professional studies are designed to support the mission of the College and to serve a diverse population of lifelong learners that includes women, men, and children. Community outreach and professional studies are designed to support women's interests, to extend the College's academic programs, to support the College's recruitment and marketing goals, and to combine to strengthen the College financially.
