In support of Meredith’s Vision 2010 goal to prepare graduates to be global citizens, the College launched its first semester-long study abroad program in Sansepolcro, Italy. Meredith’s international offerings continue to expand, with new programs in Costa Rica, Ireland and Iceland. The on-campus experience at Meredith benefited from the College’s increasing international student population. Meredith students now represent 37 countries, including students from Afghanistan, who attend Meredith through the Initiative to Educate Afghan Women, and Kenyan students who participate in the Zawadi Africa Education Fund. The Class of 2013, the largest in Meredith’s history, included students from 14 countries: Afghanistan, Canada, Chile, Egypt, El Salvador, Germany, India, Iraq, Kenya, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
