Exercise and Sports Science
Meredith College offers a physical activity program and a major in Exercise and Sports Science for students as well as various outreach programs, service and volunteer opportunities.
The Exercise and Sports Science program fosters the broad vision and goals of the College by contributing to the lifelong development of women so they may live energetic and full lives. We provide an environment that encourages women to develop disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge, critical cognitive abilities, movement awareness, physical skill development and wellness behaviors.
Through experiential learning opportunities include the on-site Human Performance Laboratory and the Meredith faculty and staff wellness program. Meredith's Exercise and Sports Science graduates are prepared to pursue professional careers, study at the post-graduate level, assume leadership roles and participate in life-long learning.
Through the Exercise and Sports Science program, Meredith provides opportunities for students to participate in intercollegiate athletics, sport performances, and fitness and leisure activities, all of which strengthen students' sense of personal interaction and responsibility to others.
