Panel to Mark 400th Anniversary of the King James Bible

Meredith College will mark the 400th anniversary of the King James Version of the Bible with a panel discussion on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011. The event will begin at 5 p.m. in Carswell Concert Hall.

The panel discussion will feature Professor of History Michael Novak, Assistant Professor of Religious and Ethical Studies Shannon Grimes and Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities Garry Walton.

Novak will discuss the King James Bible as Antidote to Protestant Theology. Grimes will present Translations Matter: Comparing King James and Modern Bibles. Walton’s topic is the Majesty of the King James Version. This event is sponsored by the Meredith College School of the Arts and Humanities.
