Meredith to Host Statewide Research Conference on Nov. 20

Meredith College will host the annual State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS) on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010.

Meredith is the first independent school to host the statewide undergraduate research conference. Approximately 400 presenters are expected with a total estimated attendance of 800.

The SNCURCS, which is in its sixth year, is a showcase of multidisciplinary undergraduate research scholarship from all of North Carolina’s 53 state and private colleges and universities and 58 community colleges. The event includes poster, oral, artistic, and performance presentations.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. in the Science and Mathematics Building Atrium, followed by the Opening Session at 8:30 a.m. in Jones Auditorium. Click here for a full agenda.

In addition to the student researchers participating in the symposium, faculty and research mentors, graduate school officers, high school advisors, sponsors, and others interested in research and creative works by students in North Carolina are invited to attend.
