Students Talk About Study Abroad at Meredith Studying abroad is increasingly popular at Meredith. Nearly 40% of the most recent graduating class had studied abroad at least once while attending Meredith College. The percentage of students studying abroad from each graduating class has increased from 7.7% in 2001 to its current level. As part of our summer series, Meredith College’s Office of Admissions asked a group of rising sophomores, juniors and seniors to talk about their study abroad plans. Today’s Question: Have you studied abroad or do you plan to? Where did you travel, or where do you plan to go? • “I studied abroad the summer after my freshmen year. I spent six weeks in Málaga, Spain and absolutely loved it! I would do it again in a heartbeat if I could.” –Allison Huber, ’12 • “I plan to, actually – fall of junior year. I plan to go to Italy – I’m really, really excited to go.” –Kristen Gallagher, ’13 •“I haven’t studied abroad… yet. I plan to go to Ireland next summer. My major, exercise and sports science, has a short program there specific to the major.” –Christina Cole, ’13 •“I have not studied abroad yet but would love to visit [Meredith’s palazzo in] Sansapolcro!” –Emily Pappas, ’12 •“At this point, I haven't studied abroad and I'm not sure if I will. I am definitely thinking about it! If I do, I may either go to England, Egypt, or India for dance.” —Chloe Williams, ’13 To read more about students’ experiences studying abroad, visit our Travel Journals page.
