Students Offer Advice for Incoming Freshmen Week 3

Want the inside scoop on Meredith College? Hear it from our students. Meredith College’s Office of Admissions asked a group of rising sophomores, juniors and seniors to share some advice that they believe would benefit an incoming freshman.

For this series, we’ll post responses to questions about the Meredith experience, academics and campus life each week throughout the summer.

This week’s question: “What has been the most memorable experience you’ve had at Meredith so far?”

•“The best experience I’ve had at Meredith so far would have to be the cumulative great responses from professors—everyone was ready to help me, enthusiastic about my ideas, and excited to get started.”—Kristen Gallagher, ’13

•“Winning the Spirit stick all three years at Cornhuskin’. It felt good to know that our class always came together…we had a lot of fun doing it. The late night practices and all of the work we put it always seemed completely worth it at that moment.” –Allie Hargrove, ’11

•Class Day my sophomore year was the most memorable moment. Everything about the tradition was so beautiful. When else are you going to see so many pretty white dresses and daisies?” —Danielle Stott, ’11

•How could I possibly choose? Other than Cornhuskin’ and late night Cookout runs, probably hanging out in the residence halls freshman year. I met all of my best friends on the hall that I lived on…my freshman hall provided such an initial close knit group of friends as a support system.” —Emily Pappas, ’12

•“I attended LeaderShape 2010 at Fort Caswell and I had the time of my life! The experience and skills we were taught really helped me to improve myself as a person as well as grow. I also met some of my best friends on the trip. I'm sure I will never forget it." —Chloe Williams, ’13

•“I think the most memorable experience would have to be the random nights when all my friends just spend the night talking, joking around, and just having fun together. The friendships that I’ve made at Meredith are definitely some of the most precious things that I have in my life.” –Allison Huber, ’12

Next week’s question: “How are you spending your summer break?”
