Meredith College Hosts Race for the Cure June 12 Meredith College will host the 14th annual Komen for the Cure NC Triangle Race for the Cure on Saturday, June 12. The race day schedule is as follows: 5:30 a.m. – Shuttle buses begin at the RBC Center
The event raises money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. Komen for the Cure Founder Nancy Goodman Brinker spoke at Meredith College on April 21. Since Brinker founded the organization 1987, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure has raised nearly $1.5 billion that has been invested in breast cancer research. “I am proud to say Susan G. Komen for the Cure is leading the fight not just in the U.S. but all over the world,” Brinker said. “The Race for the Cure is a journey for all of us from Raleigh to a village in Africa.
