Wake School Assignment Policy Forum Today To contribute to the vibrant public discussion of assignment policies of the Wake County Public School System, Meredith College will host a forum entitled “A Sound, Basic Education: A Forum on the Wake County School Assignment Policy” on Tuesday, March 30 at 4:30 p.m. in Jones Auditorium. This event is sponsored by Meredith’s Center for Women, Ethics and Public Life. The panel will include speakers representing a range of perspectives on school assignment, with emphasis on the ethical implications of current and proposed policies. Speakers will include representatives from Wake Educational Partnership, Wake Schools Alliance (WSCA), NAACP, as well as involved and concerned parents. Scheduled to attend are the following:
Professor of Education Mary Kay Delaney, head of the Meredith College Department of Education and a former principal, will moderate. The event is free and open to the public.
