Student Appointed to Governor's Crime Commission
Meredith College student Katelyn Moore has been appointed by North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue to serve as a youth member of the Governorís Crime Commission.
The Governor's Crime Commission serves as the chief advisory body to the Governor and the Secretary of the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety on crime and justice issues. The Governorís Crime Commission also administers the federal block grant funds for criminal justice and juvenile justice programs that are awarded to North Carolina. The Governor's Crime Commission (GCC) has 44 members, including heads of statewide criminal justice and human service agencies, representatives from the courts, law enforcement, local government, the General Assembly and private citizens.
Moore is a junior at Meredith College. She is earning majors in psychology and art.
