Faculty Member Posts Final Fulbright Journal Meredith Professor of Dance and Director of Women’s Studies Sherry Shapiro has spent the spring semester in South Africa on a Fulbright Scholar grant to research and lecture at the University of Cape Town. Her research has focused on dance education in the new South African curriculum; she examined the implications for dance education in the process of democratic transformation. Shapiro also taught a choreography course for dance education students at the University of Cape Town and in the community, and provided workshops in dance education for teachers. While in South Africa, Shapiro has shared her experiences in journal format on the Meredith web site. She sent in a final journal reflecting on her experience. Click here to read Shapiro’s journal.
