Established and funded by Meredith College alumnae, the Alumnae Legacy Scholarship is designed to attract students excelling in academic achievement, service and leadership at the state, national and international levels. This prestigious scholarship is the highest honor available to an entering freshman at Meredith, with a total estimated value to the student of $135,000 over her college career. Additional benefits of the Alumnae Legacy Scholarship include international study, leadership training, enrichment programs and mentoring.
The Alumnae Legacy Scholarship is named in honor of the Meredith College alumnae who have led the fundraising effort to create Meredith’s first full scholarship. This project began as a major gift priority at Meredith in 2001, and $5.5 million has been raised for the effort to date. One of the purposes of the scholarship program is to increase the college’s ability to attract a diverse group of talented leaders.
