Furniture Fair February 19 for On-Campus Apartments Meredith College will host a Furniture Fair on Thursday, Feb. 19. This event is an opportunity for students to have input on the furnishings for the College’s apartments, which are now under construction. The Furniture Fair will be held from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 4:45-7 p.m. on the Stringfield side of Belk Dining Hall. Students will be able to look at, sit on and evaluate furniture possibilities being considered. To evaluate the furniture, students are asked to complete a short 60-Second Survey that will be available at the fair. There will be a box for evaluation drop-off. From the evaluations, two names will be drawn for $25 gift cards. Help Name the Apartments: Meredith College students can also help name the apartment building. The Apartment Life Planning Committee is requesting student input on what the new building should be called. Send suggestions to apartments@meredith.edu. Ideas from Meredith students will be accepted through February 19, 2009. During the Furniture Fair, students will also be able to comment on suggested names for the apartment. Apartment tours are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 20 from 10 a.m. - noon. These are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tours will be approximately 15 minutes long. Meet at the construction trailer. Wearing old shoes is recommended. Meredith’s newest on-campus housing option will open in fall 2009. The apartment building will consist of 48 four bedroom/two bathroom units and 30 two bedroom/two bathroom units. Each apartment will be fully furnished with full-size beds, desks, a couch, dining room furniture and appliances, including washer/dryer and full-sized refrigerator.
