First TEDxMeredithCollege to Be Held January 26 The first TEDx at Meredith College, featuring an event theme of “Through a Sustainable Lens,” will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013. Meredith is one of the early adopters in the state of North Carolina and the first NC women’s college to host the event. “TEDxMeredithCollege is all about bringing together great speakers and attendees to focus on the issues of economic, educational, and environmental sustainability and the way they are interwoven,” said Kristen Gallagher, ’13, who organized the event. The day includes 15 presentations by eight Meredith students, four professors from Meredith, and seven community members ranging from students to CEOs. Gallagher said the speakers will cover the multiple definitions of the word sustainability, including educational, economic and environmental sustainability.
