RENEWALS may be made in the following ways:
- Online
- By telephone
- In person
HOLDS AND RECALLS
- All patrons may put a hold request on an item
that is checked out to another patron. This is done online or
by contacting a Library Staff member. When the item is returned,
the hold requester will be notified.
- Only Meredith faculty, staff, and students
may put a recall request on an item that is currently checked
out. The item will only be recalled after the current borrower
has had the item for one checkout period, or 21 days, which
ever is shorter. If a faculty member wants to put a currently
checked out item on course reserve, the item will be recalled
immediately regardless of the length of the checkout period.
- When recall and hold items are received from
the current patron they are held at the Circulation/Reserve
desk for a period of one week. Items not checked out by the
requesting borrower within one week will be reshelved.
INTERLIBRARY SERVICES
FINES and FEES
General Information
- Fines and fees may be paid with cash or check to Meredith College
- Overdue fines will accrue to a maximum of $35 per item
- Faculty and Staff borrowers are not charged overdue fines
Overdue Fine Rates
- Books and Scores: $ 0.10 per day
- Media Materials: $1.00 per hour
- Reserves: $0.50 per hour
- Curriculum Center: $1.00 per day
Lost and Damaged Materials
- Books that are lost or returned
to the library damaged are charged to the borrower. The Preservation
& Conservation department staff has responsibility for
determining whether a damaged item can be repaired or must
be replaced
Fees
- Replacement: Current list price plus $25.00
processing fee. If the item is later returned in good condition,
the patron will be issued a refund for the list price portion
of the fee
- Repair: Bindery charge of $10.00 plus $25.00 processing fee
Penalties
Any library user's borrowing privileges will be suspended if:
- the library user owes fines or fees of more than $ 3.00
- the library user owes fees for an item that has been damaged while on loan
- the library user neglects to return a recalled item within 14 days of notification of recall
Student university records may be tagged, preventing
registration or release of university transcripts, for
any of the above
Borrowing privileges for faculty members may be blocked
if the faculty member has lost/billed charges of $200
or more
