OTHER A/V TECHNOLOGIES

Transparencies – Come to the library and we’ll help you make transparencies to use with an overhead projector. Blank transparencies cost $0.45 each, so bring a little cash, and you’ll also need to have a couple dollars of credit stored on your CamCard to activate the photocopier. It’s fast and easy.

35 mm slides – Media Services has slide projectors that you can reserve. If you don’t know how to set up a slide projector, we’ll show you.

Opaque Projector – An oldie, but still very useful for drawing really big copies of a printed image. If you’ve never used one before, we’ll be happy to get you started.

Easels / Flipcharts – If you need an easel to hold your display board or a flipchart for taking notes during a meeting, Media Services has these. (You will need to provide you own markers.)

Audiocassette recorders – If you need to take minutes for a meeting or make an audio recording for an assignment, come by Media Services and check out an audio tape recorder… and maybe an external microphone, too.

“Memory Lines” – Are you having trouble learning your Chaucer “memory lines”? Bring a blank (or used) audiocassette to Media Services during our business hours and we’ll make a copy of the first 42 lines of the General Prologue for you. Our tape features two female and two male readers, some reciting very slowly and some reciting at a lyrical tempo.
