THE LEARNING CENTER'S APPOINTMENT POLICIES FOLLOW
The Learning Center offers subject specific tutoring in 100 and 200 level courses. Writing tutors work with students writing papers for any course, regardless of level.
Appointment Length
Appointments for all subjects are to be scheduled for 30 minutes.*
Students are allowed to visit the Learning Center for up to two hours a week per subject.
Standing Appointments
Students interested in making a standing appointment for the entire semester must first sign-up to meet with the tutor. At the end of the tutoring session, the tutor and student will fill out a standing appointment contract.
Drop-In Appointments
You are welcome to stop by the Learning Center without an appointment. If a tutor is available and is not expecting an appointment, she will be glad to help you.
If you must cancel an appointment, please do so 24 hours in advance. Call The Learning Center at 760-2800, or click to cancel online.
-Appointments missed without 24 hours cancellation notice will be considered "no shows." Three "no shows" will revoke a student's sign-up privileges for the remaining of the semester. Students with three no shows may still receive assistance on a walk-in basis.
-If you cancel an appointment less than 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, you will still be considered a "no show." We understand that conflicts arise at the last minute and this is why we give three "no shows" per semester. Thank you in advanced for letting us know ahead of time when/if these conflicts arise.
*Students with disabilities who have documented accommodations for extra time may sign-up for 60 minutes with all subjects. Disability letters must be turned into the Learning Center before students can use the accommodation. It is against the Meredith Honor Code to sign-up for extra times if you do not have documented need.
