Hi there! My name is Bekah Williams and I am a junior at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. English is both my major and my passion, but I possess an equal love for the performing arts, so dance remains to be a huge part of my life as well.
During the school year I keep busy with classes, dance rehearsals, tutoring in the campus learning center, working for the English department, and helping out in smaller areas whenever there is a need.
At Meredith I have made friendships - both among my fellow students and the faculty as well - that I will cherish for the rest of my life and I couldn't be happier with my decision to attend a private women's college.
I am the oldest of four kids and love spending time with my family. Since my parents homeschooled me from kindergarten all the way through high school, I had a wonderfully unique educational experience before coming to Meredith. My family still lives in Raleigh I see them on a regular basis and I wouldn't have it any other way. They are such a fantastic support system for me and I love remaining a part of their lives even now that I have transitioned into my own world at school.
Raleigh has been my hometown since early childhood so I have grown up truly loving this area. However this past summer I studied abroad with a group of Meredith students and it completely changed my perspective on the world around me. We got to see the greater part of Western Europe and also learned to be safe and intelligent travelers along the way. Thus, I went from being a lover of the familiar to a confident world traveler hungry for me - and I'm already planning a second trip.
I am unsure of my career path at present, but I am excited about what lies beyond the next two years. But wherever I am and whatever I am doing, I hope it involves traveling of some kind. I want to see as much of this amazing planet as I possibly can!
