My name is Cassie Drake, and I am a junior at Meredith College. I am a French major and am pursuing my K-12 North Carolina teaching license. I would eventually like to teach middle school French.
Although I currently live in Virginia (the state just above North Carolina), most of my family resides in Florida. Since my father was in the U.S. Army, I have moved and lived in many places including Germany.
My most recent experience outside of the U.S. was in France, where I studied French for five months in the fall of 2006.
My motivation for taking this course is to expand my knowledge of Africa, which is, unfortunately, extremely limited. I love learning about different parts of the world, becoming familiar with their cultures, values, and current events and issues.
