My name is Kathleen Angermeier. I am a 21 year old senior at Meredith College majoring in Exercise and Sports Science and minoring in Biology.
I am fascinated by the human body and have a passion for health and wellness. After graduation I hope to help others help themselves become healthy and well through motivation, education, and exercise. I don't know if I will accomplish this through physical therapy, personal training, wellness coaching, or corporate fitness, but as long as I'm helping people improve their well-being, I'll be happy.
I became interested in Sub-Saharan Africa when I saw the documentary Invisible Children about the child soldiers being used in the civil war in Uganda. My interest grew when I saw the movie Blood Diamond, shining a horrifyingly negative light on the diamond industry. (I am slightly ashamed that this aspect of my social awareness came from Hollywood, but hey.I'll take what I can get).
I would also like to learn more about HIV/AIDS. While the problem is often thought of as being an "African" issue, people have AIDS all over the world, so I think we could all benefit from becoming more knowledgeable on the subject.
I am very easy-going, and I live to love.
