Meredith College invites applications for a full-time assistant professor position in World Religions.  Subject to final budget approval, the appointment will begin in August 2009.   This is a continuing position with the possibility of tenure at a later time.  Qualifications include Ph.D. and experience teaching an introductory World Religions course.   Area specializations are open; primary expertise in an Asian religious tradition required. In addition to .introductory courses in World Religions and in the candidate's specialization, he/she will offer upper level courses in comparative religion and/or religion and culture and participate in the college’s interdisciplinary general education program.  To allow for preliminary interviews at the AAR conference in November, applications should be received by October 15, 2008.  Final application deadline is January 10, 2009.
