Meredith College seeks qualified candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Biological Sciences who will direct the program for Comprehensive Science Licensure.  Subject to final budget approval, the position will begin in August 2009.  Applicants must have:  (1) a Ph.D. in biology or a Masters in Biology with an Ed.D., (2) science teaching licensure for North Carolina or states with reciprocity, and (3) classroom experience at the middle or high school level.  College teaching experience will be an advantage.  Responsibilities of the position include teaching the Methods in the Teaching of Science course and courses in biology, supervising student teachers, mentoring undergraduate research, advising students and serving on campus-wide and departmental committees.  Professional development and involvement in the North Carolina education community are also important aspects of this position.
