Meredith College's Department of History and Political Science offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in History, Political Science, Public History and International Studies.

As a student in history or political science, you will gain an understanding of diverse cultures and learn effective skills in research, analysis, critical thinking and communication. Each major can teach you a valuable skill: how to apply historical and political analysis to understand and address the problems facing the world.

You'll be able to see state government in action, visit multiple historic sites and museums, and take advantage of educational opportunities at international businesses in nearby Research Triangle Park. We also offer hands-on learning opportunities like a Model United Nations team, and a student-led voter registration project each election year.
