FAQs
How long does it take to complete the MS program?
If attending classes full time (6–9 credit hours a semester) students can complete the coursework in one year (3 semesters) plus the time it takes to complete their research and thesis. The program is 35–36 credit hours total. Most students complete the program in 2 1/2 years.
What are the pre-requisites for the program?
See the information here.
Can I apply even if I need pre-requisite courses?
Yes. Pre-requisite coursework may be completed after admission to the degree program. Coursework can be taken in the UG program at Meredith or elsewhere.
When can I start?
Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis so students can begin their graduate study in any semester. Application deadlines are April 1 (for summer), July 1 (for fall) and November 1 (for spring).
My undergraduate degree is in a completely different field, am I still eligible to apply?
Yes, in fact most of our students are people who decided after earning their undergraduate degree and in some cases many years of work that they want to change fields. Having your transcript reviewed and meeting with an admissions counselor will help you determine what the program can look like for you.
Can I take classes without fully applying?
Yes, you can enroll as a non-degree (PBS) student for any undergraduate courses and up to 2 graduate courses as a non-degree student.
