Real World Focus
Students solve real business problems.
Through projects that incorporate real business situations, students are not just learning from a textbook or lectures, they are researching and solving complex problems. Case studies are a key component in the classroom, and students learn to sift through data to make and defend their decisions in all aspects of business. In Integrated Strategic Management, through the Capstone simulation, students make decisions about running a virtual company while competing against MBA and corporate teams from across the globe.
Faculty possess up-to-date research and real business experience.
The MBA faculty are not only qualified with terminal degrees but also keep current with extensive research in their discipline. Many of the faculty have private industry experience in fields such as management, finance, and banking. This real-world perspective helps faculty to bridge any gap between knowledge from the classroom to implementation in the workplace.
Workshops, speakers, and advisory board keep the program up to date and in sync.
Through events and relationships, real world perspectives are shared both in and out of the classroom. In-class speakers, distinguished speaker presentations, co-curricular workshops by local business leaders, and panel discussions are just a few of the ways we actually bring business into the curriculum. Our Business Advisory Board, a group of local business leaders, helps to keep objectives and outcomes on track, by providing guidance and advice on how to keep our program and our students competitive and relevant to business today.
Teamwork provides opportunities for leaders to emerge and to hone skills.
Students work in a variety of team settings to enhance their understanding of strengths and weaknesses of all team members, including their own. By having students from diverse backgrounds work together toward a common goal, team members learn valuable lessons in group dynamics. These settings simulate real work environments and help students to build interpersonal and leadership skills.
