Meredith Ensemble Theatre Presents “Machinal” Bookmark and Share
Meredith Ensemble Theatre will present “Machinal” by Sophie Treadwell September 25-30, 2012.

Sophie Treadwell was a campaigning journalist in America between the world wars. Among her assignments was the sensational murder involving Ruth Snyder, who with her lover, Judd Gray, had murdered her husband and gone to the electric chair. Out of this came “Machinal,” a powerful expressionist drama about the dependent status of women and the living hell of a loveless marriage.

Performances are Tuesday, Sept. 25-Saturday, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 30 at 3 p.m. in the Studio Theatre of Jones Hall.

Ticket prices are $10 for general admission, and $5 for students/seniors. Meredith Faculty/Staff and students are admitted free of charge.

Call the Meredith College Box Office at (919) 760-2840 or email boxoffice@meredith.edu to reserve seats.
