Meredith Offers New Options for NC Community College Graduates Bookmark and Share

As 2012 graduates continue to celebrate completing their studies at North Carolina community colleges, Meredith College is announcing two opportunities that will make it easier for them to complete bachelor’s degrees at Meredith.

Meredith has recently signed the NC Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU) Articulation Agreement with the North Carolina Community College system.

This agreement simplifies the transfer process for community college graduates. In addition to guaranteed transfer of all eligible credit hours, these students enter Meredith as juniors, are eligible for additional need-based financial aid, and register early with the junior class.

Meredith joins 24 other private institutions that participate in this articulation agreement, along with all UNC System schools.

Scholarships Available to Qualifying Students

Meredith is also committed to helping women transfer students transition to Meredith by providing scholarships for women who have successfully completed their community college experience and now choose to complete their bachelor degrees at Meredith.

There are three scholarships at Meredith designed for N.C. community college transfers.

•Students who have completed the Associate degree with a 3.0 GPA or better and plan to enter Meredith in fall 2012 will be eligible for a $10,000 transfer scholarship per year for two years.

•Students who have completed the Core 44 and meet the criteria in fall 2012 will be eligible for a $5,000 scholarship for three years.

•Students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa at their community college and meet the criteria will be eligible for the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship, an annual award of $5,000 for up to three years.
