Emergency Preparation Efforts Planned for 2008-09
Meredith’s Incident Management Team plans the following next steps in the College’s emergency preparation efforts for the 2008-09 academic year.
- Schedule next wave of training for Incident Response Team members and their designees; create on-call list for response team members
- Replicate items/information in the College’s crisis cabinet to have over in Massey House for alternate crisis command center
- Hold campus-wide fire drills for all campus buildings
- Hold registration campaign in fall 2008 for MC Alert
- Plan siren test and educate campus about how to respond when siren is activated
- Plan and implement campus-wide drill/simulation – in collaboration with faculty, staff, students and external agencies – schedule for spring 2009
- Continue to educate campus community about emergency prevention, planning, and response
- Explore options in creating a campus care team at Meredith (in addition to early warning system – to identify and support students, faculty and staff who are distressed)
- Meredith Director of Counseling Center will formalize agreements with other NCICU/CRC institutions to offer/receive supplemental counseling services in campus crises
- Meredith Dean of Students and other Incident Management Team members will continue to attend NCICU campus safety meetings to complete safety plans/responses to campus safety report
- Incident Management Team will invite faculty members who have been assigned to Health and Safety Committee to assist with incident management planning and implementation
- Continue to update emergency planning web site and College’s incident response plans
