Dance at Meredith

The dance program at Meredith provides women with opportunities to develop artistically through disciplined training, creative exploration and self-discovery.
With a dance studies major, you can choose from an elective option or concentrations in dance education or private studio teaching.
As a dance student you'll have opportunities to take advantage of the department's many exceptional programs, specialized areas of study and venues for presentation of original choreographic works.
Meredith College also hosts the annual North Carolina Dance Festival, which offers students the chance to perform with and help produce the work of North Carolina's best choreographers.
Other highlights include:
- Performance opportunities with DanceWorks, Meredith Dance Theatre and the Meredith Tap Ensemble, as early as freshman year;
- Intensive learning experiences with regional and national guest artists, including nationally acclaimed artists such as Bebe Miller, Lisa Race, and Pamela Pietro; and
- Participation in the American College Dance Festival, where you will attend master classes and present work for adjudication.
