School of Business - Minors
Minors
The School of Business also offers minors of 18-21 hours each in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, human resource management, international business and marketing. Courses within the minors may not be taken for pass-fail grading.
The Accounting minor includes a core of ACC 220, 221, 325, 330, and 331, and any two electives chosen from ACC 333, 336, 337, 438. Not available to Accounting majors.
The Business Administration minor includes a core of ACC 220, BUS 150 or BUS 300, BUS 360, ECO 100 or 101, and any three electives chosen from ACC 221, BUS 310, 340, 343, 348, 350, 370, BUS 474, ECO 301 or 302. Not available to Accounting or Business Administration majors.
The Economics minor includes a core of ECO 100, 101, 301* or 302*, and three electives chosen from any ECO classes 300 level. *Either ECO 301 or ECO 302 may be taken as electives. Courses may not count as both required and elective choices. Not available to Economics majors.
The Finance minor includes a core of ACC 220*, ACC 221, BUS 250, BUS 370, BUS 472, ECO 101*, and one elective. *For each noted course, Accounting and Business Administration majors must choose two additional electives (6 hours) for this requirement in lieu of ACC 220 and ECO 101 for a total of 9 hours of electives. Electives: ACC 336, BUS 474, ECO 301 or 302, ECO 312.
The Human Resource Management minor includes a core of ACC 220 or ECO 101, BUS 150 or BUS 300, BUS 348, BUS 350, and three electives chosen from BUS 352, 452, 458, 481, ECO 320.
The International Business minor includes a core of ACC 220*, BUS 150 or BUS 300, BUS 360, BUS 310, BUS 369, ECO 100*, and ECO 334. *For each noted course, Accounting and Business Administration majors must choose two additional electives (6 hours) from the following list in lieu of ACC 220 and ECO 100: GEO 205, POL 210 or POL 320, SPA 301 or FRE 301, REG 102. Study Abroad Experience including courses that contain comparative cultural experience (for example: IDS 300 or IDS 301).
The Marketing minor includes a core of ACC 220 or ECO 101, BUS 150 or BUS 300, BUS 360, BUS 361, and three electives chosen from BUS 365, 369, 466, 467, 468.
