School of Business - Internships
Internship Experience
The School of Business offers experiential learning through a formal internship program, in which students receive 3 hours of academic credit in exchange for a supervised professional business experience. BUS 480 and 481 are available to students who are approved for an internship. BUS 481 is reserved only for business majors
with a minor in human resource management.
Students are matched with companies ranging in size from sole proprietorships to multinationals. Some of the industries represented are pharmaceuticals, accounting, advertising/public relations, health care, computer
hardware and software manufacturing, entertainment and finance. State and Federal Government internships
are also available.
Students are required to complete 120 hours during the semester in positions such as marketing research
assistant, human resources coordinator, customer service representative, events planning assistant and
newsletter editor. Upon graduation, many of our interns receive offers for full-time employment as a result
of these internship assignments.
Meredith College has internship recruitment partnerships with outstanding companies, including Lenovo, Credit Suisse, the EEOC, Universal Music (Nashville) and Bank of America.
