School of Business Outstanding Student Chapter

Meredith College SHRM has been selected as one of the Outstanding Student Chapters for the 2011-12 academic year. Of the 475+ student chapters, only ten (10) were selected to receive this honor. The chapter was selected based on the activities and events listed in the Merit Award application that is submitted by student chapters each year. The Student Programs team reviewed dozens of applications and based its selection on excellence in the following areas: compliance with SHRM bylaws, fundraising efforts, educational events, volunteerism, professional development, internships, mentorships, newsletters and external communications, social media programs, legislative advocacy, support of the SHRM foundation and participation in seminars or conferences.

As an Outstanding Student Chapter, the chapter was recognized during an awards ceremony at the 2012 Annual Student Conference in Atlanta on June 23, 2012, and received a plaque in honor of the achievement. SHRM advisor is Ms. Kristy Dixon, Assistant Professor of Business.
