Business Plan Competition
The School of Business is pleased to announce a Business Plan Competition open to all full-time undergraduate Meredith students.
Eligibility Guidelines:
Competitor Qualifications: The Business Plan Competition is open to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled at Meredith College during the 2010 fall semester.
Team size: Student participants may work in teams or individually. The maximum number of student competitors on a team is limited to three (3).
Nature of Ventures: The competition is for new, independent ventures in the seed, start-up, or early growth stages. Generally excluded are the following: buy-outs, expansions of existing companies, real estate syndications, tax shelters, franchises, licensing agreements for distribution in a different geographical area, and spin-outs from existing corporations.
Prizes: Awards will be determined by an outside panel of business owners. The first-place prize is $1000 and the second place prize is $750 subject to the attendance requirement described below.
Attendance: The first and second place winners of the Business Plan Competition are expected to present their business plan at Celebrating Student Achievement Day on Thursday, April 14, 2011. Failure to present at CSA Day will result in a forfeiture of the prize money.
