Sports Information Director/Assistant Athletics Director
Gregory M. Jarvis serves as Meredith College’s Sports Information Director and Assistant Athletics Director.
In August 2008, he was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director. Jarvis was named the first full time Sports Information Director of Meredith College in October 2006. Jarvis served as the Interim Sports Information Director since April 2006. Under his service as SID he has led the efforts of Meredith’s new athletic logo, upgrades of the athletics website and the additions of webcasting and media guides. His duties include supporting six varsity sports with NCAA score reporting, compiling team statistics, completing athletic marketing materials, web page creation/updates, participation in the Meredith College Golf Classic, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. He also supports Meredith College’s Office of Marketing by providing public relations duties and other support.
Prior to being named to this position, Jarvis served at Meredith College as a consultant in completing documents for admission into the USA South conference and completed an Athletic Administration internship with Meredith as a part of a Masters degree from North Carolina State University with a concentration in sports management in December 2004. He also served as an Event Manager and Operations Assistant at Campbell University and a Technical Coordinator/Manager for the North Carolina State Volleyball team. Jarvis also gained a Masters of Arts in business communications from Jones International University in May 2004 and a Bachelors of Science with a concentration in consumer studies from Virginia Tech in May 1994.
Jarvis is a member of the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA), National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA), National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He serves on the Executive Board of NCCSIA as the Publicist and sits on the Ethics Committee of CoSIDA.
