Guilford, Ends Season
Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith College softball team dropped two tough games in a double header at Gulford losing 2-5 and 5-6. This completes the season for the Angels who look to enter the USA South athletic conferene schedule next season.
Meredith Drops Two to Averett, Guilford Game Rescheduled
Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith College softball team dropped a double header to Averett on Tuesday losing 2-10 and 1-6. The Angels finished their home season and next travel to Guilford. The game at Guilford has been moved to Thursday April 12 at 3:00pm due to weather.
Meredith Plays in Breast Cancer
Awareness Day Game
Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith College Softball team (6-28) participated in the Breast Cancer Awareness Day Game against cross town rival Peace College on April 4. North Carolina State head coach Lisa Navas and her 2006 ACC Championship Wolfpack softball team threw out the opening pitch in between the doubleheader games. The Angels held both games close before losing in the final innings. The score of the first game was 2-7 and the second game 1-9.
The Angels next return home to face Averett in a double header at 3:00 PM on April 10. The game will also be available via web cast.
Softball Takes Two from St. Paul's College
Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith College softball team swept the double header from Division II St. Paul's College on Sunday. Meredith took game one with a 10-2 victory. The Angels were led by Cynthia Abell and Kamika Henderson who had triples during the game. Krista Giles pitched the entire game and gained the win. In the second game of the day, Meredith won 13-1. Pitcher Liz Prochaska picked up the win. The combined 23 runs scored on Sunday was the most scored by the Angels all season.
Meredith next heads to Peace College to take on the Pacers at 3:00 pm on Wednesday. Meredith is playing in the “Pacers Go Pink Game” event which is a part of The Strike-Out Cancer initiative, that unites the American Cancer Society and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association to help raise funds and awareness to fight cancer. Spectators are asked to wear pink clothing to show their support of the activities, while both teams will also wear pink game jerseys. Admission is free.
Meredith Softball Updates

Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith College softball team completed a homestand against Chowan University and Methodist University. The Angels dropped both double headers losing to Chowan 0-4, 0-7, then to Methodist 4-12, 2-11.
Meredith then hit the road on Monday to face Ferrum College. They lost the games 1-9 and 0-8. Stephanie Wilson led the Angels in the first game by going 3 for 3 and scoring the lone run.
The Angels return to action when they travel to Bridgewater College on Saturday at 3:30 pm. Then they head back home to face St. Paul College on Sunday April 1 at 1:00 pm.
Meredith Picks Up First Wins on the Season
Raleigh, N.C. - Over the weekend of March 3-4, the Angels picked up their first four wins of the season while only losing one game. The Meredith College softball team picked up a double header win against Mary Baldwin College 5-3 and 8-1. On the third game of the day, they dropped to Bluefield State 2-9. On Sunday, the Angels picked up its second double header sweep of the weekend, defeating Sewanee 7-4 and 3-2.
The Angels next hosted NC Wesleyan dropping the home double header 11-1 and 9-1. They then traveled to Pfieffer University losing the double header 0-8 and 1-12.
Meredith College next heads to play in the Freedom Florence Methodist tournament in Florence, S.C. the weekend of March 16-18.
Meredith Softball Falls to Peace
Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith College softball team (0-10) lost two games to Peace College. The first game was 4-24 and the second game was 2-10.
The Angels next host five games over the weekend of Mar 3-4 against three different opponents.
Meredith Softball Drops Road Trip
Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith College softball team (0-8) dropped its road games this last weekend. On Saturday, the Angels faced Lynchburg College. It lost the first game 2-10 and the second game 1-13. On Sunday, Meredith traveled to Sweet Briar College. The Angels fell to the Vixens 6-16 in the first game and 4-16 in the second.
Meredith next travels to Guilford College on Sunday.

Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith College softball team dropped its home opener against Greensboro College. The Angels lost the first game 0-9 and the second game 0-7 which was shorted because of the lack of daylight.
Meredith next travels to Lynchburg College on Saturday.

Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith College softball team opens the home season on February 14th against Greensboro College. The Angels are coming off a doubleheader loss to Florence Tech 0-4 and 2-8 on Friday.
Meredith Softball Prepares for Upcoming Season
Raleigh, N.C. - The Meredith College softball team is preparing for their season opener on Feburary 9th at Florence Tech. They open the home season on February 14th against Greensboro College. Coach Theresa Walker has brought in a bunch of new faces to go with the core of last years team. A season preview will be posted in the coming weeks.
Plans are in the works to web cast three home games in the coming season.
