The College: An independent, private women’s college that offers a comprehensive educational experience. The College awards Bachelor of Arts; Bachelor of Science; Bachelor of Music; Bachelor of Social Work; Master of Business Administration; Master of Education with licensure in elementary education, English as a Second Language or reading; Master of Music; and Master of Science in Nutrition degrees.

Location: A beautiful, residential campus nestled on 225 acres in Raleigh, North Carolina. Meredith students are part of the more than 108,000 college students who reside in the Research Triangle Park Area, the country’s premiere research and development hub. The College has been ranked in the top 7 by “U.S. News & World Report 2007” as Best Value and ranked 16th for Best Master’s Universities in the Southern Region. Meredith has been named a Best Southeastern College by the “Princeton Review.”

Accreditation: Meredith College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Meredith is also accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, Council on Social Work Education, Council for Interior Design Federation, North Carolina State Department of Public Instruction, National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetic Association.

Enrollment: more than 2,100 students shape campus life at Meredith, which includes 2,015 undergraduate degree students and 153 graduate level students.

Student/Faculty Ratio: The undergraduate student-faculty ratio is approximately 11:1. The average class size is 16. Eighty-nine percent of full-time professors have earned doctoral or terminal degrees.

Libraries: Carlyle Campbell Library contains over 186,000 volumes, 15,626 microforms and 669 newspaper and journal subscriptions.

Athletics: Meredith athletes compete in six NCAA Division III sports: basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, softball and cross-country. The fall of 2007 will begin the first year of competition for all Meredith athletic teams in the USA South Atlantic Conference.
